As much as we love seeing new looks come down the runway season after season, there’s nothing more frustrating than having to wait months on end to actually get them into our wardrobes. The spring/summer 16 catwalks proved an interesting place to be – there were debuts a plenty from the likes of Massimo Giorgetti at Pucci, Peter Dundas at Roberto Cavalli and Arthur Arbesser at Iceberg. Well, it’s time we stopped waiting for warmer weather to roll around and started shopping this fashion month’s most popular trends — ASAP.
The slip dress is back and looking slinkier than ever, trimmed with scalloped lace at Celine, in 90s satin or see-thru chiffon at Saint Laurent, and layered over fine knits at Pucci. Nightwear as daywear, underwear as outerwear, these designers elevated luxury undies to proper garms. Most often worn with black tailoring for grounding.
The sexiest slice of skin to show for SS16, especially when accompanied by a halter-strap. Instead of straight across off-the-shoulder looks from this summer, this season we’re seeing more subtle peeks of the shoulder and uneven necklines in structured material, flawy dresses and denim. The trend for off-the-shoulder tops and voluminous sleeves showing no sign of abating.
With the theme of lightness and brightness creating a shine in the new season collections, it most comes in the form of these happy sunset tones or citrus brights. Orange is looking like the juiciest option for fashion forward ladies.
Some were big. Some were small. Some were structured. Some were free to be breezy. Some were head to toe. Some were but a fluttering trim. Whatever the scale or intentions of these SS16 frills they were, quite simply, EVERYWHERE.
Need to overhaul your look? Update your classic staples to get ahead of the fashion curve this year.
Rework Your Party Wardrobe:
Metallic hues were a popular choice for the SS16 shows, so if you have anything shiny left over from christmas then why not rework it for the new season? Simply spin a sparkly skirt or dress for daytime by teaming it with slouchy cable knits and flats.
Take on Tonal:
If you bought a chic suede jacket in run up to winter, then great news as you will no doubt be pleased to hear that the trend is sticking around for the next season. To make your suede outerwear appropriate for the coming season style it with similar colours for a head-to-toe tonal look. Add a 70’s floppy hat to finish this look off perfectly.
Dress up your Denim:
Denim has a new place in the style stakes for the up and coming season with providing us with a more polished look. Try dressing up a pair of dungarees or coloured jeans, with a blouse or shirt and a tailored blazer with some court shoes.
The glitzy event, hosted by Dermot O’Leary, is hailed as the biggest night of the year for British telly, and these glamorous stars certainly dressed to impress. From classy floor length gowns to some leg-baring minis and just about everything in-between, here is our BEST dressed from the NTA’s:

It’s that time of year again when we reflect on the year we have had and look forward to the one ahead, setting ourselves goals and making resolutions. Love Niche would like to give you a stylish hand when it comes to next years wardrobe and point you in the right fashionable direction for 2016!
Here are a few useful hints, tips, tricks of the trade to make updating your 2016 style a little easier and keep you on track.
Its important to try not to buy anything this year that you will be sick of by next season. Be clever with your style, invest in pieces that feel special yet timeless, ones that you can and will wear over and over again. A classic white shirt always makes our Top 10 of wardrobe essentials. Pair with trousers, jeans or skirt and you will always look highly polished and sophisticated ensuring to keep the compliments coming.
Every year you will find yourself saying the same thing, ‘I am going to try to dress outside my comfort zone’. Since that doesn’t always works try the opposite for 2016. Sticking to what you love best and investing in your favorites. Revieve your wardrobe It’s time to wear those old favorites or finally let them go.
Plan a total closet overhaul in the new year that starts with editing out what your not going to wear again and identifying the basics missing from your wardrobe. You can find yourself reaching for the same five to six pieces over and over so introduce more variation. Aim to to get better about hanging up your clothes after each wear (instead of just throwing them on the floor—I know, I know—or stuffing them in a drawer), and coming up with a system that makes it easier to tell what you have each morning. This means you don’t get stuck wearing them same five pieces over and over again.
If your entire wardrobe consists of nothing but a palette of black, white and neutrals make your style goal for 2016 to inject some major colour into your look especially near the face. Refrain from wearing black all the time, it has the power to ‘drain’ ones appearance. Alternate with other colours that suit your skin tone.
Dont forget accessories complete any outfit! Nifty style add ons such as waist belts, detachable collars, oversized clutch bags, the more detailed the better. A chunky necklace or sparkle earrings can be a great talking point and a good distraction.
