Love Niche London.

Love Niche London is the sister brand to Love Niche. We are now in India (so exciting!!) to show the Love Niche London collection and will be holding our much awaited exclusive Trunk Show in Punjab and Delhi. So we thought we would give you a sneak peek at some of the pieces that are part of the collection, and how we have styled them! photo 1-2 Monochrome; A huge trend this season! These amazing striped jeggings go perfectly with this green cowl neck blouse, to add a pop of colour. We styled this look with Outhouse jewellery and Love Niche bag also in green with clashing harlequin monochrome sequin print, both accessories available from the Love Niche London studio! photo 1 Classic LBD (Little Black Dress); The classic LBD should feature in every woman’s wardrobe, its a classic after all! This lbd however is a little bit different, it is jersey fabric with a knot at the waist to give a jagged hem at the front and make the back dipped. We have added an amazing Outhouse Necklace which is like a thick gold chain collar, with a large lion head central. We also added this beautiful box clutch with neon beads and and stones. photo 2-1 Orange; Every summer orange should come out in your wardrobe, its a staple summer colour! We love this Love Niche London jersey top, it has a beautiful print with carriages, ropes and jewels. To keep the top the statement piece in the look we have paired it with skinny black trousers with a cream stripe down the outer leg. Outhouse again featured in this look with this amazing spike, jewel and lion head necklace, and the jeweled cuff which compliments the colours on the top. photo 2-2 Clashing prints; Again another major trend is clashing prints, we love these nautical feel striped shorts teamed with this beautiful chiffon printed blouse! Teamed with this clutch in a deep coral with gold details, this is the perfect summer look! We also think that some statement earrings would look amazing with this outfit. photo 2 Edgy chic; We love this floral flocked monochrome skater style dress, but worn alone it could be too sickly sweet so to give it an edge we have added this amazingly soft italian leather jacket (available from Love niche Studio) We accessories with a clashing print and colour bag for a pop of colour and these incredible outhouse earrings with tusk detail (we LOVE them!) photo 3-1 Prim and proper revamped; The pencil skirt is killing it this season and it looks amazing on everybody (super flattering!)  to keep this look chic we have gone with a monochrome spotted cowl neck blouse, this looks very classic. To revamp a classic look we have added this box clutch again but in a daring pink and added a statement outhouse necklace.       photo 3-2 Ombre maxi skirt; Ombre is one of our favourite trends this season and we are in love with  this ombre maxi skirt is, its a chiffon fabric so it looks amazing when worn and floats when you walk! Teamed with this sequin tee we think it looks fab! These matching dangle earrings and cuff with neon beads (both outhouse) look beautiful with this look, the neon beads add an extra subtle dimension of colour.photo 4-1

The printed tee; The printed tee is basic in everyones wardrobe, this love niche london one however is in a gorgeous chiffon shirt style, embellished with jewels and has a very asian feel with the Buddha print and we all know oriental asian influence is massive this summer! (we LOVE this tee!!) To dress this tee up we wanted to make the red details pop so we teamed with a cherry red pencil skirt and gold platform stilettos to go from day to night. To put this look on another level we recommend adding a statement piece such as a gold jeweled cuff, or some amazing bling earrings.

photo 4

Last but not least, Stripes; This beautiful chiffon blouse in monochrome stripes is one of our favourite pieces from the collection and it comes with this cute gold tassel belt detail around the waist. To keep the blouse the focal point we have just gone for an understated pencil skirt as it is a classic item. For accessories we have gone for striped again but this time in the form of this beautiful multi colour woven fabric clutch bag. The earrings complete this look.

All accessories in these images/looks are available from the Love Niche Studio!

As the weather is gradually getting better and the sun is trying to break through all the clouds, we have been excitedly planning our spring/summer13 wardrobes at Love Niche by lusting over all the latest trends! This season has so much to offer, with so many eclectic styles for everybody’s tastes.

First off colour. It is a major trend in itself this season, think everything from Macaroon pastels in baby pinks and blues, lemon yellows and pale greens. To fluorescent hues of neon in fuchsia, grass green, red, cobalt blue, canary yellow and bright burnt orange. Even though all of these colours are huge this s/s, don’t forget that every ladies favourite colour combo of black and white is still in style with monochrome dazzling on the runway! Looking for some outfit inspiration on how to wear colour or monochrome check out some of our outfit posts!

Patterns are covering the runway this season in all different ways! We have spotted checks (which have made a HUGE comeback this year!!) stripes, Spirographic prints, spots, bows, Asian influence with oriental prints and lots of floral designs from printed fabric to 3d applique flowers in daises, poppies and luscious roses. Exotic animal prints have also been heavily used by designers this year, snake skin, cheetah, leopard are just to name a few. Love Niche tip; Don’t be afraid to clash your prints/patterns, make yourself stand out from the crowd and be adventurous, fashion is only what you make of it!

Silhouettes and shape is a key factor to every season, this year silhouettes are heavenly influenced by the 60’s, from feminine lines of tailored ladylike chic or menswear inspired Avant garde ensembles. On offer are Bermuda shorts, tuxedo, slouchy box shaped suits, bell bottoms. Or If you are the daring sort, why not try a cropped bandeau top showing off your bare midriff for a full on peekaboo effect. However ladies the MUST HAVE item which is suited for most, is the Precious Pencil skirt. They are versatile and a staple for every season. They can be classy and sophisticated, demure to sexy, ladylike to flirty with thigh high slits or even more seductive with double slits, take your pick!

Texture – Say goodbye to shiny disco balls and say hello to high shine. Iridescence sheen, metallic, lustrous foils and holographic will make any outfit radiant and make a gleaming impact. On the contrary featherweight sheer materials, like chiffon organza mousse-line & lace will bring lot of freshness & fun to any spring wardrobe. Also a big hit this season are silky satins that contract beautifully with sheer fabrics. Denim, with every s/s is huge; jeans, shorts, skirts, dresses, jackets but get it right this spring/summer and wear your denim in dungaree form, yes you heard us right, dungarees are here to stay and we are proud to say we love them and you should too! (embrace your inner 90’s child!)

Paris Fashion Week aw13

Even though summer is just around the corner, and we can’t wait to don our bikinis and shorts while basking in the sun (ahh!), the A/W 13 collections from Fashion Week have us lusting and we are excited to go and get our A/W wardrobe!

All the shows from Milan, New York, London finishing up Paris were outstanding in our opinion this year. However we thought that Paris stole the limelight with some amazing shows;

From Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, who showed a gorgeous ‘foxy‘ collection, he admitted after the show that “I’ve fallen in love with fashion again” By looking through the collection, this shows and he is very much back on the game! His “foxy lady” show was fairly colourless for the first dozen looks with a monochrome colour scheme shown in houndstooth, thick chain printed dresses, large tartan check coats and his infamous blanket dresses. However it is the enormous fox heads integrated onto tartan mini dresses that spun the heads of the fashion crowd! He then introduced blues and oranges for the rest of the collection and wowed with beautifully abstract colourful prints and black and bright orange furs.

The creative behind Hermes; Christophe Lemoire captured a thoroughly pure french chic spirit in this collection for this fall, that seemed almost darkly romantic. Earthly tones were side by side with textured monochrome throughout the show with a pop of magenta for a colour boost. This palette was displayed through oversized almost mannish coats and soft-shouldered draped cape-like overthings, mid calf skirts, high waisted gray flannel trousers and beautiful crisp fitted shirts. Texture played a huge part in the Hermes collection this season, think sheen black ponyskin coats and tops tucked into high waisted tailored trousers, suede trouser suits, long navy woolen coats with black leather and fur details, grey furs, leather and pony skin waist coats in camel and beautiful croc skin pencil skirt.

Unkle Karl (as defined by Nik Thakkar, check out his amazing blog karlismyunkle) has done it again for a/w 13-14, the Chanel show was simply exquisite. ” I’ve got my feet on the ground, but the collection is ‘up’ to Earth, not ‘down’ to Earth” From this glorious show you can see exactly what he means, it was energetic, confident, eye catching and one of the most clothes-packed runways we’ve seen with a massive 80 looks (impressive!) The majestic globe sets the scene for a very memorable collection, it was dark as night and so were the clothes, but not dull and depressing, in fact it was alight with a magical sparkle. The collection was very simple in colour mainly consisting of blacks/grey, however this did not make for a boring same old show, in fact the dark tweeds were woven with metallic threads making them glitter when light was cast on them. Layering was heavily featured, long coats that were oversize with large collars, low waisted dresses with pleated skirts, tweed suits; jackets and mini skirts in pastel hues were shown with knee high leather boots to give an edge to an otherwise sickly feminine look. Leathers, tweed, fur, and cable knitted wool were the main bulk of the collection, towards the end black chiffon was introduced, creating a very sexy yet chic look combined with fur trims and leather details including amazing 3D flower embellishments. Karl also designs the most amazing accessories, this year it was the head-wear that caught our eye the most, the unusual fur helmets that were shown in lots of different colours! Which are  (said Lagerfeld)  facsimiles of Anna Wintour herself iconic bob hairstyle!

Now a quick mention to “Saint Laurent”. With this being Hedi Slimane’s second collection for Saint Laurent we were intrigued as to what he was going to produce for the fashion house, and we were all (bloggers, media, frow-ers!!) shocked to say the least! The collection divided the fashion critics, with some applauding the designer for giving the brand a change of direction and revamping their look,  we most definitely do NOT agree!! We don’t feel that 90’s grunge is the way forward for “Yves” Saint Laurent as it is such a legendary name (please say this is just a midlife crisis!)

(Even the models are miserable wearing this collection!!!)

Tk-Maxx launch Newcastle.

logo

Last week we attended the launch of a new fresh store in Newcastle city Centre…TK Maxx! We headed down for 10am after the morning rush, unfortunately we were too late to be gifted with one of the 500 £10 gift cards! Music, sweets and friendly staff greeted us on entering the store, as soon as we arrived we realised this was not just any ordinary TK Maxx.

To most people as soon as they think TK Maxx words such as bargain, hunting, deals, on trend, discount and designers come to mind! However for a few its not a very enjoyable experience (especially for men) they don’t get the thrill from rummaging through the endless rails trying to find that special item! We asked a few men their thoughts and opinions on TK Maxx and the overwhelming response was that they found it “a waste of time trailing through rails” (Nahhh!!) “it’s just a big jumble sale” “too hard to find something in my size”

However if they ventured into the fresh Newcastle store we think they would be surprised by how easy it is to now find that special bargain they crave! Sections were clearly marked and organised into sizes.1 tk maxx

In our eyes we found the new store a haven for all the beautiful things we love, imagine shoes, bags, endless rails of gorgeous clothes and an impressive home accessories section..heavenly! For us it is an absolute delight searching high and low through the rails, because when we do find that big designer item we feel a sense of achievement, its exciting! Then when we look again and its our size and at an affordable price (Voila!! ) we just want to jump up and down, its been our lucky day.

This is exactly how we felt when we were at the TK Maxx store, which was inaugurated by gorgeous Donna Air who is a tv presenter and actress, Newcastle is actually her home town.

The best part about the fresh Newcastle store was the ‘Gold Label’ collection. With an average ticket price of £100 each item features a distinctive black and gold ‘Gold Label’ swing tag with a very interesting message its says ” Very Important Purchase” and it surely is. The Gold Label collection is available in only 22 stores in the Uk. At the Monument Mall Tk Maxx it was handily at the top of the escalator upon entering. We were in awe of the collection they had, and we found ourselves being held there for over an hour alone! This little zone of temptation had designers such as ; Dolce & Gabbana, Viktor and Rolf, Red Valentino, See by Chloe, Lanvin, Emilio Pucci and Versace to name but a few.hy

So naturally we raided the rails to find our favourite pieces and decided it would be fun to pick out some key hot pieces that we ‘Need to have’ or ‘Want to have’ however after trying on some items we realised they didn’t fit in either of the two categories, so instead they moved to a new category of ‘Have to Have’ and ‘Can’t live without!'(pheww!!)

These are our clicks from our little fashion show we performed in the changing rooms 🙂

First up is this fabulous versatile Emilio Pucci blouse, as soon as we saw this we knew this was going to be a ‘Have to Have’ key item! Everything from the monochrome print (very on trend this season ladies!) to the fit of this blouse is so flattering, this is how we styled it; We paired it first of all with a fitted panelled pencil skirt, secondly we teamed it to go under the figure hugging Nanette Lepore dress. The Pucci blouse was affordable at only £169.99 from £850, and we found it was the perfect length to wear just as a cover up over a bikini, perfect for the up and coming holiday season! The Nanette Lepore dress was a bargain at £79.99!

Another one of our many favourites was this elegant Red by Valentino mac. One of the most vital pieces for the British weather A Mac is an indispensable piece in any wardrobe. It was unfortunately too big for both of us, but we still gave it a try as we couldn’t resist trying it on and thought we should know how it feels before we can suggest it to someone who might fit in it. It was fabulous with the delicate lace insert and lace bow. A mac is an essential item that can be worn all year round with it being waterproof which is a key feature for us Brits! It is also light enough to be added just as an extra layer in those colder months. So we styled it over the Pucci blouse and Nanette Lepore dress as shown above, we found this look perfect for a late Spring/ early summer work wear outfit choice. The Valentino mac was an absolute steal at only £199.99! We were amazed at this price and would be very surprised if this was still up for grabs (we can only hope!)

Other favourites of ours included this gorgeous netted blouse by Dolce & Gabbana, and this lime green blouse by Lanvin ( Love Alber Elbaz) both styled with the panelled monochrome pencil skirt. The D&G blouse was one of our more expensive picks being sold for £269.99, however it was originally £1,810 so in our eyes that is such a bargain! The Lanvin blouse is the perfect piece for adding a pop of colour into a dull spring wardrobe and can be styled in many ways, this pencil skirt just being one. It was priced at £199.99 down from £1,000, which is again a rather large price down, We would class these blouses as investment pieces, as they are still quite expensive but they will serve you well!

If you are unable to go into a Tk Maxx store, don’t worry! They have a great online store click here to browse the ‘Gold Label’ range if you cant resist the temptation anymore.

Happy Shopping!!

Thank you for reading, let us know what bargains you have recently bagged from TK Maxx in the comments below!

oscars red carpet

We know you have Read all about it but this is our take on the Glorious Gowns from the 85th Academy Awards. The Oscars are one of the most glamorous events in the fashion calendar, with all eyes on the celebrities to see what they are wearing. There were some gorgeous dresses on the red carpet this year, however we also spotted a few not so hot ones!

stacy-keibler-oscars-2013

Stacy Keibler undoubtedly looked amazing in this beaded Naeem Khan dress, everything about this look is perfectly glamorous! Naeem Khan is a ridiculously talented designer from Mumbai, but he has only recently came into the limelight when he designed for Michelle Obama when she was attending the house correspondents dinner, he is one of her favourite designers. His client base includes Beyonce, Eva Longoria and Leighton Meester. The gown itself fits Stacy like a glove accentuating her fabulous figure, the bead work is exquisite with all the beads ranging from blacks, silvers and grey’s then adding a pop of red towards the bottom. The sheer back takes this dress to the next level and is overall extremely feminine and eye catching, this look is definitely a head turner!

85th Annual Academy Awards - Arrivals    85th Annual Academy Awards - Arrivals

Salma Hayek is yet another of our favourite looks from this years Oscars red carpet, she looks phenomenal in this floor length  Alexander McQueen blue velvet gown. The dress hugs her figure perfectly, creating a gorgeous hourglass shape! The heavily embellished gold collar looks beautiful and adds that extra bit of glam taking this dress up a notch from being too gothic and dark.

jennifer lawrence oscars

We would like to give a special mention to Jennifer Lawrence, who took best actress this year, she looked beautiful in her Haute couture Dior gown! She is the face of the Dior fashion house and fronts their Miss Dior campaign flawlessly. Here is a short clip of behind the scenes footage from a recent Miss Dior bag campaign with Jennifer, she looks divine. Click here to watch the clip

The actress had a slight shock when she went to collect her award and make her speech, when she fell! Even though she had this incident she still managed to look stunning. In hindsight if we were the one to style Jennifer we would have perhaps gone for a gown that was more streamline, which had less flare at the front and more at the back, to make it easier for her to manage up the stairs to the stage. Here is a link to her backstage interview after she had a few shots. She was quite witty while answering some very silly questions. Take a look

Now for the not so hot celebrity looks;

85th Annual Academy Awards - Arrivals   kristen stewart oscars

Kristen Stewart did not impress us at all this year on the red carpet wearing Reem Arca. We feel the gown drains her and doesn’t suit her skin tone, also the shape even makes Kristen herself  look slightly awkward and uncomfortable donning this gown, this was definitely not her best look. Kristen had a very unusual accessory this year on the red carpet…her crutches, she also wore one fabulous Jimmy Choo and one flat pump!

kristen stewart cruthes

reese withersppon 2 reese_witherspoon

Reese Witherspoon donned a jewel azure blue Louis Vuitton and got a lot of praise from other bloggers and fashion press, however we disagree! We think the colour is fabulous and really suits her skin tone, yet the shape and cut do nothing for her, especially in her waist, the gown looks as though it doesn’t quite fit and makes her look bigger than she is.

melissa mccarthy

Melissa McCarthy wore a custom made David Meister gown made with platinum silk jersey. This style, colour, fit is just all wrong for Melissa! The fit of this dress seems very off, the pleating has distorted the silhouette of the gown and has created a distraction. The style of dress has just swamped her in material, which is never flattering and this has ended up with her looking shorter! Also the shade of grey does nothing for her skin tone.

anne hathaway 1  anne hathaway 2

Anne Hathaway is the last not so hot celeb in this post. We were surprised by this choice for Anne as she normally looks amazing, however we just don’t feel that this Prada column gown is working well for her. The cut is not flattering across the chest in the silk blush material, it is rather ill fitting and does nothing for her. In an interview Anne commented saying her dress was “work from the front, party from the back” However it seems clear that this dress is all party for Miss Hathaway with the outline of her nipples from the front!

Thanks for reading. Please feel free to leave your comments on our take.
