Love Niche London Fashion Show: Pop-up Shop and Catwalk Show

Love Niche London played host to a pop-up boutique and catwalk show at As You Like It in Jesmond last week to celebrate the launch of our brand new website www.lovenichelondon.com

The guests were welcomed by us with a class of bubbly as they all took front row seats and patiently waited for the show to begin.

The catwalk showcased models wearing our brand new Love Niche London collection which is now available to buy online. There were various looks created on the catwalk with the models hair styled by North-East’s award winning hairdressers Hooker & Young. The looks were from casual day looks to glamorous night out styles, all of which were then available to buy from the pop-up shop at the end of the show. Alongside the clothing was decadent costume jewellery, scarves and clutch bags.

The highlight of the evening was the fashion show, giving the fashionistas in the room a taste of what to expect from the studio’s brand new diffusion line Love Niche London. The collection brings you the best of British high street fashion at guilt-free prices. All the looks shown on the fashion show were in the price bracket of £15- £55. The looks were styled by fashion stylist and owner of Love Niche Studio Nisha Vedhara.

The collection was dominated by current season trends including soft sorbet shades and winter florals, with dresses and blazer style jackets complementing cigarette patterned trousers with bralet crop tops, and finally outerwear for the upcoming winter weather. Each look was styled and complimented with some of the most luxurious jewellery.

Current Miss Newcastle GB Nicole Bailey closed the show for us wearing the Love Niche London Esme Dress.

The night continued by a style presentation from Head Stylist Paul from Hooker & Young and Love Niche Stylist Nisha Vedhara giving the audience an insight into the makeover of Rhona, our raffle prize winner from our last fashion show at Jesmond Dene House.

We closed the evening with the ladies rushing to our pop-up shop to make some purchases. We were left overwhelmed by the interest the women of Newcastle showed in our brand new collection. Overall it was a fantastic night leaving a lot of smiles on many beautiful faces.

Love Niche festive outfit choices!

Planning what to wear over the festive season can be stressful, it is the season to be glitz and glam, but that doesn’t mean you have to bring out the all over sequin dress!

We have chosen 3 looks for 3 of the key days over the Christmas period; Christmas eve, Christmas day and of course New years eve!

Christmas Eve – Whether you’re out for drinks with friends or even at a family party this look is perfect. Don’t go over the top with the glitz, we have chosen a gorgeous slightly oversized drape top which has some sparkle to it. We have paired it with our favourite faux leather pencil skirt in burgundy, to bring out the colours in the top, with statement zip detail. Add one of our Love Niche reindeer necklaces to give it a festive feel or even some statement sparkle earrings! Christmas Day – On Christmas day, unless you’re going out, you tend to just lounge around the house, so donning a festive jumper is the perfect attire for Christmas Day. Our Love Niche jumper is different to your usual printed Christmas jumper, with the gold embellishment and made from soft cashmere it is a luxurious on the skin and glitzy enough for Christmas Day! We have teamed it with skinny jeans and a metal cuff.New Years Eve – To bring the New Year in, in style, you must look your best! Hello everyone! We are now in December (eek!) which means that Christmas is only a couple of weeks away! On every gorgeous ladies Christmas list this year, should be something from Love Niche! So we have pulled together another post with our current top 5 picks from the studio for under £100!

To start us off we thought we would go all out and show you our favourite festive bling! These gorgeous teardrop earrings are silver, encrusted with stunning crystals, the center emerald stone is so gorgeous and they will suit every skin tone! Team with your festive LBD and you will be turning heads all night long. At only £75 we think you will agree with us, that these are a bargain! We only have 1 pair available as they are one of a kind. Next up is a piece of jewellery which is a lot more muted than the bling earrings above, but no less special. Our reindeer necklaces always catch every clients attention when they come into the studio, they can be worn with either a casual outfit or can be dressed up, they are very versatile. Everyone needs a new clutch for over the holidays, this black bag with over-sized gold studs is ideal! It’s large enough to be worn through the day if you are going out for lunch, but is also perfect for an evening of cocktails with girlfriends! The hand strap is very unique and looks amazing, you can either use it as a clutch or you can use the thick gold chain to be hands free (or you could use both!), whichever way you decide it will look gorgeous! The inverted triangle is a very common body shape these days, with more and more woman developing this shape. If you think you’re an inverted triangle this is the checklist; broad shoulders, narrow hips, generally slender limbs, fantastic legs (jealous much?!) and usually have great boobs too, but sizes can vary.

You are typically a very easy body shape to dress, you just want to aim to balance your shoulders with your hips. Our guidelines will help you to establish what shapes and cuts flatter you the most this season. First up dresses, this season is all about the glitz and the glamour! When picking out a dress go for a shift, something A-line or something which has heavy embellishment on the skirt as this will draw attention to your lower half balancing out your shoulders. This might come as a surprise to you, but we also think you look flawless in strapless tops and dresses. Strapless/bare shoulders are bang on trend this season, so if you haven’t already, give it a go! When picking tops you must think about the neckline. If you have a small chest you can pull off a polo neck and also those risky plunging V-necks, however if you are gifted with a fuller bust try and avoid a polo neck as it just doesn’t flatter your shape, instead try a shortened V-neck, an open collared shirt, a cowl neck or something scooped. Wrap tops are also a winner as they create a V and flatter almost every shape, they are also extremely versatile tops, wardrobe basics in fact.

Trousers…well we are extremely jealous of those pins for a start, but you can pull off, literally, any trouser/jean! Boyfriend fit, boot cut, flare, combat, palazzo, turn up hems, peg trousers, culottes, and this season must have jean shape the “mom” jean! Skinny or straight leg jeans will also show off those amazing legs but try and go for jeans that have embellished pockets as they will make you look like you have a bit of a bigger bottom, to balance out your top half! Coloured jeans will also give the illusion of your being more hourglass.

When picking your winter coat try and pick a longerline coat or one that ends at the crotch. A belted coat or jacket is also very flattering as it gives you more structure and definition. Boyfriend blazers, in our eyes are not the most flattering option for you, try a more tailored blazer, which ends at the hipbone or crotch and make sure it has hip pockets to widen your narrow hips, also tapered at your waist to give you more definition.

Again we have chosen some looks to show you how to dress your shape for this season. We have an evening dress outfit, a day time jumper dress, and if you don’t fancy showing off your gorgeous legs then we have a jumpsuit which you would look flawless in too…

First up is the daytime look; the printed jumper dress. One of the main reasons why this will look so good on you is to do with the neckline; a cowl neck will always be a great choice for you! With it being a/w its sometimes difficult to find a nice daytime dress to wear, so this jumper dress is a perfect solution, very versatile and on trend can be worn day through to night. The length of this dress is also very flattering, and it is slightly A-line so will balance out your shoulders even more. The colour combo of cobalt and black is bang on trend. Shown here for an evening look, but through the day team with some luxurious tights and some heeled boots, to toughen this look up add a biker jacket. For even more definition you can add a belt to nip in your waist.Our second look is an evening dress for this glitz and glam season; the aztec sequin dress. This dress is for you inverted triangles with a smaller bust (ideally) as the neckline is quite high for you ladies with bigger boobs and could essentially make your chest/shoulders look larger. This dress works really well for an inverted triangle as all the detail is in the skirt of the dress, so this draws the eye to your lower body, balancing out your proportions. With the elasticated waistband it draws the eye in giving you more definition, you could also add a subtle black skinny belt if you wanted further definition. The sequin details on the skirt make it a gorgeous dress for a Saturday night out with girlfriends or for your Christmas party (the holidays are approaching fast!) Team with a clutch, and killer platform heels, and a coloured lip for a pop of colour we would suggest a berry shade or classic red. Our last look is again versatile and could be worn day through to night; the colour block jumpsuit. The tailoring of this jumpsuit is gorgeous, it’s got a V-neck zip and for you smaller busted ladies you can have it plunging as far as you like…! The wide straps will break up your shoulders and the straight legged trouser will also balance out your proportions. This look can go from day to evening as the drawstring dropped waist keeps this jumpsuit looking quite relaxed and effortless. For evening team with killer heels, and match your clutch to your lipstick, we suggest a deep mulberry shade! Which is your favourite look for the interverted triangle?!

The pastel trend has been big all year, so Autumn/Winter is no exception, except you swap your pastel cami tops for chunky knit pastel jumpers and your short shorts for thick woolen tights.

Every season we create mood boards to help us focus on the trends of the moment, so to help inspire you too here is one of our mood boards for the pastel trend!We have decided to show you some of our pastel outfits which are our in the studio at the moment , two day outfits by Love Niche and two evening outfits which are Niche by Nisha Vedhara.

First up is a look using one of our favourite fur gilets! A tip would be when wearing pastels its good to use another bold colour to break up the look to stop it from being too washed out, if you wear pastels wrong they can drain you! So we have layered the gilet over the long sleeved plum top, by keeping it in the same color family we have added extra warmth to this look. Wearing white trousers with this outfit keeps it looking light and fresh, you could also wear another colour but try to avoid black as it would darken this look too much. Our second day look is more of an autumn look, with a simple pastel jumper with some gorgeous bead work across the shoulders. To keep the autumnal chill away we would suggest styling with a scarf which is again in the same colour family. This scarf is one of our favourites as it has beautiful golden shimmer lace detail. We think this is the perfect outfit for a “ladies who lunch” or afternoon tea date. Our first evening look is one from the Niche by Nisha Vedhara collection. The perfect dress for aumtumn/winter. With the long sleeves, the layered top that gives off 1920’s vibe, we are in love with this dress! The golden lace shimmer top adds that extra wow factor. Paired with the gold clutch with oversized jewels, a killer heel and you’re set for the night. This is the ultimate christmas dress! Our final look, which was part of our fashion show earlier this year, is another Niche By Nisha Vedhara dress. This dress is ideal for the festive period, with swarovski crystals, satin bow and lace sleeves, how can you not love this dress?! The beautiful model Lucy wore hers with red stiletto heels for a pop of colour.

The anticipation of autumn’s arrival is killing us here at Love Niche! It is still too warm to indulge in chunky knits, leather trousers, fur gilets and woolen hats, we never thought we would say this but we are bored of summer…!

So to get you all a bit more excited about your a/w13 wardrobe this post is about our new prints that have landed for the coming season. Everybody loves a good print, so we’ve chosen two of our favourite printed dresses which show some of this seasons must have prints; Aztec, dogtooth/animal print.

Our first look is something with a bit of glitz and glam! It’s going to be Christmas season soon, when everyone gets out their sequins and sparkle. This dress is perfect for this season, with the Aztec sequin skirt, it’s not too much on the bling side, as it has been balanced out with the taupe on top. This dress is extremely flattering, as it skims over all the lumps and bumps! Team this look with some killer heels, a clutch and a red lip to turn some heads!Next, we have this gorgeous mixed print jersey wrap dress; clashing prints at its best! We love the mix of dogtooth and leopard print! The wrap on this dress makes it very flattering for a lady with a bigger bust, and the knot detail with the buckle at the waist makes sure the dress skims over the stomach, making you look slim. You can easily dress this up for an evening with some stiletto heels or down for work with some thick black tights!
