Last week we attended the launch of a new fresh store in Newcastle city Centre…TK Maxx! We headed down for 10am after the morning rush, unfortunately we were too late to be gifted with one of the 500 £10 gift cards! Music, sweets and friendly staff greeted us on entering the store, as soon as we arrived we realised this was not just any ordinary TK Maxx.
To most people as soon as they think TK Maxx words such as bargain, hunting, deals, on trend, discount and designers come to mind! However for a few its not a very enjoyable experience (especially for men) they don’t get the thrill from rummaging through the endless rails trying to find that special item! We asked a few men their thoughts and opinions on TK Maxx and the overwhelming response was that they found it “a waste of time trailing through rails” (Nahhh!!) “it’s just a big jumble sale” “too hard to find something in my size”
However if they ventured into the fresh Newcastle store we think they would be surprised by how easy it is to now find that special bargain they crave! Sections were clearly marked and organised into sizes.

In our eyes we found the new store a haven for all the beautiful things we love, imagine shoes, bags, endless rails of gorgeous clothes and an impressive home accessories section..heavenly! For us it is an absolute delight searching high and low through the rails, because when we do find that big designer item we feel a sense of achievement, its exciting! Then when we look again and its our size and at an affordable price (Voila!! ) we just want to jump up and down, its been our lucky day.
This is exactly how we felt when we were at the TK Maxx store, which was inaugurated by gorgeous Donna Air who is a tv presenter and actress, Newcastle is actually her home town.

The best part about the fresh Newcastle store was the ‘Gold Label’ collection. With an average ticket price of £100 each item features a distinctive black and gold ‘Gold Label’ swing tag with a very interesting message its says ” Very Important Purchase” and it surely is. The Gold Label collection is available in only 22 stores in the Uk. At the Monument Mall Tk Maxx it was handily at the top of the escalator upon entering. We were in awe of the collection they had, and we found ourselves being held there for over an hour alone! This little zone of temptation had designers such as ; Dolce & Gabbana, Viktor and Rolf, Red Valentino, See by Chloe, Lanvin, Emilio Pucci and Versace to name but a few.
So naturally we raided the rails to find our favourite pieces and decided it would be fun to pick out some key hot pieces that we ‘Need to have’ or ‘Want to have’ however after trying on some items we realised they didn’t fit in either of the two categories, so instead they moved to a new category of ‘Have to Have’ and ‘Can’t live without!'(pheww!!)
These are our clicks from our little fashion show we performed in the changing rooms 🙂
First up is this fabulous versatile Emilio Pucci blouse, as soon as we saw this we knew this was going to be a ‘Have to Have’ key item! Everything from the monochrome print (very on trend this season ladies!) to the fit of this blouse is so flattering, this is how we styled it; We paired it first of all with a fitted panelled pencil skirt, secondly we teamed it to go under the figure hugging Nanette Lepore dress. The Pucci blouse was affordable at only £169.99 from £850, and we found it was the perfect length to wear just as a cover up over a bikini, perfect for the up and coming holiday season! The Nanette Lepore dress was a bargain at £79.99!

Another one of our many favourites was this elegant Red by Valentino mac. One of the most vital pieces for the British weather A Mac is an indispensable piece in any wardrobe. It was unfortunately too big for both of us, but we still gave it a try as we couldn’t resist trying it on and thought we should know how it feels before we can suggest it to someone who might fit in it. It was fabulous with the delicate lace insert and lace bow. A mac is an essential item that can be worn all year round with it being waterproof which is a key feature for us Brits! It is also light enough to be added just as an extra layer in those colder months. So we styled it over the Pucci blouse and Nanette Lepore dress as shown above, we found this look perfect for a late Spring/ early summer work wear outfit choice. The Valentino mac was an absolute steal at only £199.99! We were amazed at this price and would be very surprised if this was still up for grabs (we can only hope!)

Other favourites of ours included this gorgeous netted blouse by Dolce & Gabbana, and this lime green blouse by Lanvin ( Love Alber Elbaz) both styled with the panelled monochrome pencil skirt. The D&G blouse was one of our more expensive picks being sold for £269.99, however it was originally £1,810 so in our eyes that is such a bargain! The Lanvin blouse is the perfect piece for adding a pop of colour into a dull spring wardrobe and can be styled in many ways, this pencil skirt just being one. It was priced at £199.99 down from £1,000, which is again a rather large price down, We would class these blouses as investment pieces, as they are still quite expensive but they will serve you well!

If you are unable to go into a Tk Maxx store, don’t worry! They have a great online store click here to browse the ‘Gold Label’ range if you cant resist the temptation anymore.
Happy Shopping!!
