Trend of the week – SS14 textures

Textures are a big deal when styling during all seasons. A lot of people associate textures mainly with A/W for layering, however textures during S/S months are a MUST. S/S14 is a season full of texture, some you would expect, such as; lace, chiffons, lightweight linens and cottons. But this season we have also been introduced to Summer leather and lots of heavy embellishment which are definitely heavier textures.

LACE – This SS14 lace has been a favourite of many designers, varying from all over lace to slight feminine lace trims and details. We are big fans of lace here at Love Niche too, so this trend is a favourite of ours. Burberry has shown lace is every way, from all over pastel blue and lilac delicate lace dresses to sheer candyfloss pink lace pencil skirts to lace blouses. Tom Ford showed a daring lace ensemble with black barely there lace in a 3 piece! Dolce & Gabbana wowed us with their SS14 collection, the black lace dress is a winner in our eyes with statement pleated sleeves teamed with high-waist hot pants and bandeau.

SHEER – Sheer fabrics and S/S are a must have combination, and this year it is no exception! Sheer has been shown in abundance this season, everything from silks, chiffons and gauze. Vera Wang layered her colourful sheer fabric looks for a summer chic look. J.W Anderson created some interesting folk style sheer maxi dresses with elasticated bands. For an evening look take inspiration from Tom Ford with stunning sheer length dresses.

LEATHER – An unusual texture for S/S as we generally associate leather with A/W and keeping warm. However leather has had a S/S overhaul, every thing from leather trousers, maxi skirts, jackets and dresses! Tom Ford is one of our favourite collection for leather inspiration this season, we are loving the white biker jackets and tan leather dresses! J.W Anderson has shown leather maxi skirts with sheer crop tops, texture at its best! We are also loving Dolce & Gabbana’s deep maroon leather dress with boxy 3/4 sleeves. For safari chic we love the mustard yellow croc effect leather tie skirt from Hermès.

JEWELS AND METALLICS – The glitz and glam heavily jewelled looks are normally a favourite during A/W running up to the festive season, however this S/S just had a bling makeover! We have seen crystal and sequin covered dresses, heavily embellished pencil skirts, crystal and beaded trousers and jewel mosaic two pieces! Burberry has again mastered the embellished crystal look with jewelled skirts and pastel tees. Lanvin is all about the metallic fabric this season with a stunning collection. The new season is gradually starting to come in to the Love Niche Studio! Since the weather is still pretty gloomy and we can’t don our favourite S/S14 trends just yet, we have been looking for a way to introduce a bit of summer into our daily looks. Luckily, the new collection of Love Niche earrings has arrived! Everything from nude pastels, coloured stones, crystals and pearls!

We love these cream and gold disc earrings with pearl details. They could easily be worn day to night, for any occasion! For an evening look sleek your hair back off your face and let the earrings do the talking, wear with your favourite LBD and killer heels, add a red lip for extra wow factor! These stunning crescent moon earrings are perfect for an evening look! They will definitely make heads turn with the crystal and pearl details. Either wear with a gorgeous dress or even try with leather trousers and a deep lipstick for more of an edgy glam look!We can’t get enough of these round turquoise stone earrings! They are ideal for adding a pop of colour during these gloomy months and will look stunning during summer with an all white look! The clear crystals give these earrings that extra wow factor and will definitely stand out against your LBD for an evening look! Again we would suggest to wear coral in other accessories such as your clutch, heels or a coral lipstick. Love Niche festive outfit choices!

Planning what to wear over the festive season can be stressful, it is the season to be glitz and glam, but that doesn’t mean you have to bring out the all over sequin dress!

We have chosen 3 looks for 3 of the key days over the Christmas period; Christmas eve, Christmas day and of course New years eve!

Christmas Eve – Whether you’re out for drinks with friends or even at a family party this look is perfect. Don’t go over the top with the glitz, we have chosen a gorgeous slightly oversized drape top which has some sparkle to it. We have paired it with our favourite faux leather pencil skirt in burgundy, to bring out the colours in the top, with statement zip detail. Add one of our Love Niche reindeer necklaces to give it a festive feel or even some statement sparkle earrings! Christmas Day – On Christmas day, unless you’re going out, you tend to just lounge around the house, so donning a festive jumper is the perfect attire for Christmas Day. Our Love Niche jumper is different to your usual printed Christmas jumper, with the gold embellishment and made from soft cashmere it is a luxurious on the skin and glitzy enough for Christmas Day! We have teamed it with skinny jeans and a metal cuff.New Years Eve – To bring the New Year in, in style, you must look your best! We think that going classic is the best way, so we would choose a LBD! We have chosen a gorgeous black fitted cocktail dress with stunning crystal embellishment! To take this look from looking nice to giving it the WOW factor, we have dressed it in two different ways. The first is with one of our signature printed silk pashminas, the black fur keeps the look classic and the print adds colour to the look as well as keeping you warm! The second way we have styled this dress is by simply adding some fabulous accessories, we have gone for one of our Love Niche crystal box clutches and dual square stone and crystal earrings.Which look is your favourite?!

Hello everyone! We are now in December (eek!) which means that Christmas is only a couple of weeks away! On every gorgeous ladies Christmas list this year, should be something from Love Niche! So we have pulled together another post with our current top 5 picks from the studio for under £100!

To start us off we thought we would go all out and show you our favourite festive bling! These gorgeous teardrop earrings are silver, encrusted with stunning crystals, the center emerald stone is so gorgeous and they will suit every skin tone! Team with your festive LBD and you will be turning heads all night long. At only £75 we think you will agree with us, that these are a bargain! We only have 1 pair available as they are one of a kind. Next up is a piece of jewellery which is a lot more muted than the bling earrings above, but no less special. Our reindeer necklaces always catch every clients attention when they come into the studio, they can be worn with either a casual outfit or can be dressed up, they are very versatile. The one pictured is brushed silver, but we do have a brushed gold one available too. At £40 these necklaces are a festive steal! Everyone needs a new clutch for over the holidays, this black bag with over-sized gold studs is ideal! It’s large enough to be worn through the day if you are going out for lunch, but is also perfect for an evening of cocktails with girlfriends! The hand strap is very unique and looks amazing, you can either use it as a clutch or you can use the thick gold chain to be hands free (or you could use both!), whichever way you decide it will look gorgeous! These blouses are new into the studio, we have 2 colours available, all black or monochrome. We love them! They have a knitted back and arms which is made from the softest wool, with a contrasting front. Again they are very versatile and could easily be dressed up or down, we love them teamed with killer jeans and a chunky heels, simple yet chic. The perfect gift this christmas. Last but by no means least we have some gorgeous scarves in the studio. These scarves are made from the softest wool and feel gorgeous on your skin. They are delicately embroidered and embellished to make them all very unique and eye catching. They are great for adding colour into your outfits, as well as keeping you warm! At £95 they will last you a lifetime and are definitely statement pieces, a fabulous gift this Christmas.
