Love Niche SS14 Collection preview

Over the past few weeks we have been posting about SS14 trends, and have shown you images and inspiration pictures from the SS14 shows. The Love Niche SS14 collection has started to come into the studio, so we thought we would give you a little sneaky preview of what trends we will be introducing this season!

First we have this lightweight cotton twin set, perfect for summer, white is a must have colour during hotter months and the beautiful striped colour block in neutral tones is bang on trend, especially with the golden metallic tone. photo 1 (47)Yellow lime is a big colour this season, we have these gorgeous fine knits in the studio in either the vest (left) or cardigan (right). Metallic stitching and stud details on the vest top. These are perfect for layering and adding texture to summer looks. photo 4 (35)This beautiful white blouse is also combining major trends with the jewelled panel down the sleeves, the light fabric and slightly boxy silhouette, can easily be dressed up or down. A must have versatile piece in any wardrobe. photo 2 (49)photo 3 (39)This jacket is possibly our favourite piece in the entire collection. The super soft leather, the waterfall open front and the silver jewel bead details, just make for a beautiful summer leather! Available in tan and pastel pink! photo 5 (22)One of our favourite trends this season is pastel leather, and this amazingly soft lightweight leather oversized collar jacket is definitely on our wish list! Perfect for summer layering and again can easily be dressed up or down depending on occasion.photo 1 (46)Pastels and prints, what a perfect combo! This fine knit printed striped jumper is a must have for S/S, ideal for those breezy summer days with skinny jeans and jewelled flats! photo 4 (33)As well as pastels being a huge trends, bright neons are also a must have, especially during the summer months! This fine lace knit layered jumper is ideal for a summer look teamed with light wash jeans. photo 3 (41)Pastel blue is one of our favourite colours of this season, we love this light chiffon blouse with v-neck. We have this blouse in another 2 colours; white and pastel pink. Very versatile to be worn with many looks! photo 2 (51)This evening dress combines lace and cobalt blue perfectly! We absolutely adore it, ideal for a glam event! photo 1 (48)

Love Niche Blogger event

Hello everyone!

Sorry we have been lacking on the blog front recently, but we have been exceptionally busy these past few weeks with event planning and catwalks!

On Thursday 7th of November we held our first ever blogger event for all you fabulous North East bloggers to come down have a mingle, have some yummy food, a few glasses of bubbly and of course enjoy the clothes! We had a lovely time meeting you all and we have thoroughly enjoyed reading the blog posts!

We greeted our guests from 6pm onwards, with a glass of fizz with fresh raspberries, and a bite size buffet for them to tuck into! Deli Delivered kindly gifted us and our bloggers with some fantastic bite size treats, including cheesecakes, and a variety of brownies (the snicker ones were my fave!) We urge you to check them out if you haven’t already! We also handpicked an unusual selection of cheese from the grainger market cheese shop for our guests to enjoy, we had everything from french brie, nettle cheese and red devil chilli cheese to sticky toffee cheese ( it tastes like fudge!) To accompany our cheese we went down to ‘mmm’ again in the grainger market to pick out some chutneys, we were advised to go for spicy sweet plum and tomato and nigella seed, Uh-mazing!

By the time 7:30 came around all of our guests had arrived and we entertained them with a mini catwalk, Love Niche style. The studio was intimately lit with candles to create a warming atmosphere and we had Florence and the machine playing. All the bloggers seemed to love the show! Afterwards the models came down to mingle and everyone was having a good browse around the studio and trying on clothes!

To end the evening we said goodbye to our lovely guests with a Love Niche goody bag! We hope to see you all soon to use your special £25 off vouchers!

This week’s styling tip.

photo 1 (1)This is our second post in the body shape series, where we are focusing on the fabulous ‘Hourglass’ figure! The hourglass is classed at the ideal fantasy figure for a woman, with equal proportions, gorgeous curves, ample bust, slender waist yet still with hips, thigh and a good bum! This body shape might sound easy enough to style and think that with the good proportions they would suit everything, however it can actually be one of the most difficult shapes to dress right!

If you are an hourglass you may find that when you go into some stores, especially the higher end stores that it can be a challenge to find clothes that suit your shape, and this is because designers tend to make clothes for a straight up and down figure. If you like to wear luxurious clothes you will find it easier to shop in a luxury boutique/fashion studio.

This season every hourglass should have in her wardrobe; a fitted crisp white shirt ( the fitted shirt was made you!) a pencil skirt to show off those curves, either a wrap or an a-line skirt dress. Some killer jeans, steer away from a flare leg, however if you like bootcut jeans go for a dark wash and make sure they have large pockets on the bum. Straight/slim leg trousers and jeans work best for you as they show off your curves and legs, try to stay away from light wash jeans. The a-line skirt paired with a fitted top with flatter your figure to no end, wearing a dress or skirt with a slight peplum will also show off your curves however do not go over the top with the peplum as one with too much volume will just make your hips look larger than they are.

If you are a petite hourglass try and find slim trousers and jeans which are slightly high waisted as they will elongate your legs as well as drawing in your waist. Avoid clothes with no shape and definition as they will do nothing for your figure and if anything they will just make you look frumpy. Also avoid hip pockets as this will make you look disproportionate.

For the colder months when choosing your a/w coat, go for a coat which has a belt or a define waist, a mac is the ideal coat for you. Also try a cropped jacket/biker leather jacket (totally on trend!) by wearing a cropped jacket it will draw in your waist and show it off. Stay away from boxy jackets even if they are on trend this season!!

We have styled 3 outfits, 1 look with a pencil skirt, 1 with a dress and cropped fur and 1 trouser look, to show you how we would style your body shape during this season!

First we have a work wear look with a pencil skirt, which will hug your curves and show off your waist. This skirt is in a must have colour of the season; berry! We have teamed it with a fitted white shirt which has unique box pleat details around the neck and on the cuff of the sleeves. By adding one of our new belts that have just landed in the studio for A/W13 it has taken this look from day to night, finish this look off by adding a clutch, some heels and a berry lip.photo 1 (40)photo 3 (32)Next up is our autumnal dress look. This lightweight jumper dress is an extremely versatile piece to have in your wardrobe, you can dress it up or down, we have added a cropped berry fur bolero jacket which is gorgeous for your shape. We would finish this look with some earrings a slick ponytail and a heel. This dress has no waist definition so we have added a tan belt to draw in the waist to give more shape. Just because a dress has no definition at the waist does not mean that you can’t style it to suit your shape. photo 4 (28)photo 5 (18)Last is our trouser look. These casual trousers come in black, maroon, navy and a light brown and are perfect for hourglass and triangle shapes, they skim over the hips, are ever so slightly high waisted and are a straight cut so they don’t cling to your ankle. The faux leather waist band adds texture. We have dressed this look up slightly with a gorgeous black jumper which has beautiful embellished shoulders, everybody loves a bit of bling! Again to take this look to an evening we have added a clutch bag, also team with a heel, a red lip for a pop of colour and let your hair down. photo 2 (42)photo 3 (33)Which look do you like best?! Next week we will be doing a post for inverted triangles!

This weeks style tip!

photo 1It’s still holiday season and in the studio we always get asked how to create an evening capsule wardrobe while away on holiday, so here are some of our favourite looks we have pulled together.

Look 1; We have the Love Niche best sellerthe drape dipped hem blouse, its lightweight, comes in many colours, prints and can be worn lots of ways as it is easy to style. We have paired it with this gorgeous zebra print skirt, a simple pendant necklace and a sequin bag for a bit of glitz and glam!

photo 3photo 1Look 2 again with the drape top, this time we have styled it with must have killer white jeans! White jeans are a holiday must have, they have to be lightweight and fit perfectly. Jeans are the most versatile item anybody can have in their wardrobe, and white jeans are a MUST for any holiday! Again we accessorised with the simple black pendant necklace, but this time we added another colour with the blue chillis bag.

photo 3photo 2Look 3 is one of our favourite looks. Who said kaftans were just for daytime…we love layering open kaftans for an evening when it can get a little bit chilly! We have turned up the jeans to give this look a more relaxed feel, a simple white vest, the sheer bold print kaftan is quite boho chic, so we layered some Love Niche necklaces to style up this look. Paired with some killer wedges this is a fab evening look if you like to try something new, this is definitely a head turner.

photo 3photo 2Look 4, and the last look with white jeans. This is a classic take on the white jeans, paired with a split sleeve black top for a monochrome look. To stop this look being too conservative we accessorised with one of our statement Outhouse necklaces which is neon green to add a pop of colour, and the sequin bag again for a bit more glam!

photo 4photo 2The final look is another simple yet eye catching outfit! We have paired the zebra print skirt from look 1 and the black split sleeve top from look 4. We have let the skirt do all the talking and kept it simple, to make this look a bit edgy we added the amazing outhouse lion head collar style necklace (one of our faves!!!) To finish off this look just add some killer heels, tousled beach wavy hair and a pop of colour through lipstick!
