Love Niche London Fashion Show: Pop-up Shop and Catwalk Show

Love Niche London played host to a pop-up boutique and catwalk show at As You Like It in Jesmond last week to celebrate the launch of our brand new website www.lovenichelondon.com

The guests were welcomed by us with a class of bubbly as they all took front row seats and patiently waited for the show to begin.

The catwalk showcased models wearing our brand new Love Niche London collection which is now available to buy online. There were various looks created on the catwalk with the models hair styled by North-East’s award winning hairdressers Hooker & Young. The looks were from casual day looks to glamorous night out styles, all of which were then available to buy from the pop-up shop at the end of the show. Alongside the clothing was decadent costume jewellery, scarves and clutch bags.

The highlight of the evening was the fashion show, giving the fashionistas in the room a taste of what to expect from the studio’s brand new diffusion line Love Niche London. The collection brings you the best of British high street fashion at guilt-free prices. All the looks shown on the fashion show were in the price bracket of £15- £55. The looks were styled by fashion stylist and owner of Love Niche Studio Nisha Vedhara.

The collection was dominated by current season trends including soft sorbet shades and winter florals, with dresses and blazer style jackets complementing cigarette patterned trousers with bralet crop tops, and finally outerwear for the upcoming winter weather. Each look was styled and complimented with some of the most luxurious jewellery.

Current Miss Newcastle GB Nicole Bailey closed the show for us wearing the Love Niche London Esme Dress.

The night continued by a style presentation from Head Stylist Paul from Hooker & Young and Love Niche Stylist Nisha Vedhara giving the audience an insight into the makeover of Rhona, our raffle prize winner from our last fashion show at Jesmond Dene House.

We closed the evening with the ladies rushing to our pop-up shop to make some purchases. We were left overwhelmed by the interest the women of Newcastle showed in our brand new collection. Overall it was a fantastic night leaving a lot of smiles on many beautiful faces.

Fashion Friday – Accessorise Like Rihanna

Accessories can often make or break an outfit, they add personality, style and colour. It’s almost like salt, a little can add flavour and interest, too much and you’ve ruined a perfectly good meal, or in this case, outfit. Balance is often key, make one item stand out such as a statement necklace, oversized earrings or multiple rings. Of course an arm party is always welcome, who doesn’t love to stack bracelets? however we think just the one arm is enough!

Our style crush has to be Rihanna who always gets her accessories right, from the dainty to the dramatic she’s always on the fashion radar. Here’s how she wears hers

The Statement Necklace

Tip – If wearing a loud colourful piece balance with neutral shades and block colours. If the item is metallic try bold colours to make it really stand proud.

The Oversized Earrings

Tip– To avoid looking too dressed up juxtapose this statement piece of jewellery with a simple ponytail or the latest look – the slicked back hair.

Rings on Rings

Tip – Go as excessive as you like, mix colours, styles and stones, to elongate fingers add midi rings which sit above the knuckle.

The new season is gradually starting to come in to the Love Niche Studio! Since the weather is still pretty gloomy and we can’t don our favourite S/S14 trends just yet, we have been looking for a way to introduce a bit of summer into our daily looks. Luckily, the new collection of Love Niche earrings has arrived! Everything from nude pastels, coloured stones, crystals and pearls!

We love these cream and gold disc earrings with pearl details. They could easily be worn day to night, for any occasion! For an evening look sleek your hair back off your face and let the earrings do the talking, wear with your favourite LBD and killer heels, add a red lip for extra wow factor! These stunning crescent moon earrings are perfect for an evening look! They will definitely make heads turn with the crystal and pearl details. Either wear with a gorgeous dress or even try with leather trousers and a deep lipstick for more of an edgy glam look!We can’t get enough of these round turquoise stone earrings! This weeks styling tip.

Sometimes you just want something that is easy to throw on, but not something where you have to compromise with style. On these days, we also go to the jumper dress. They are super versatile, you can buy them in many shapes and styles. In the studio we are a fan of the more fitted style, and we have them in styles for both day and night, and here is how we would style them.

Our first look is our day look. This jumper dress is very casual chic, the colour block is very on trend again this season, the zip details have leather tassels on them and the cut of the dress is slightly a-line. Wear with either opaque black tights and for when that chill gets too much you could add thick cable knit woolen tights/or leggings. Grab your leather jacket, put on your knee high boots and you good to go! Our second look is our evening look. This jumper dress is one of our favourite pieces that we currently have in the studio! We are in love with the heavily embellished shoulder details, that bit of bling makes this look perfect for an evening. You can add opaque tights, platform heels, team with some jewellery and a jewelled clutch and you will be turning heads. If you aren’t a fan of wearing a necklace (Love Niche reindeer shown) we have gave a second option of glitzy disco ball drop earrings, never wear a statement earrings and a necklace together as it just look over the top! For when it gets too cold to leave for an evening out with no jacket we would suggest you opt for a fur gilet, this ombre Love Niche one is a fave and looks so glamorous. OOTD; An affair with squares.

It’s time to update your prints for this season, squares/checks are our faves so far! For this daytime look Nisha has teamed our best selling drape blouse (which has had a fresh print overhaul) with skinny dark wash jeans. When wearing a top which is loose or billowing on top you should always wear something slim or skinny fitting on the bottom, otherwise you lose yourself in fabric and have no shape! Nisha has styled this look perfectly with white sandal heels and she has layered her necklaces and bracelets.

OOTD; Classic Cobalt

Some days all you want to do is wear leggings…this doesn’t mean that style has to be sacrificed! Who said that comfort and style can’t be mixed?!

Nisha has teamed her leggings with a simple long black vest and one of the new style Love Niche studio cobalt loose blouses. These blouses are so gorgeous for every season, they are light enough for summer and can be layered in the colder autumn/winter months. They have a popper button so you can wear them open or closed and have a dipped hem. In this look Nisha has styled hers with some simple black mesh stiletto heels and gold jewellery (reindeer necklace available from Love Niche)

Autumn is our favourite season of the year, in our eyes its when the real dressing starts, we move away from floaty summer dresses, short shorts, skimpy tops and bring back out our structured jackets, cable knit jumpers and of course the textures; leather, lace and fur. In Britain of course we are used to cold drab weather, so we love to layer to keep out the chill!

The Love Niche Studio has just got in the new autumn/winter collection, with some truely amazing seasonal must haves! The outfits below are our take on how we would layer during this transitional period between summer/autumn!

Our first look is this gorgeous colour block playsuit (playsuits arent just for summer!) The cobalt colour is bang on trend again this season! We have added a dark navy blue real leather biker style jacket, with quilting on the shoulders (another major a/w trend!) and a woolen scarf, we have gave you two colour options; first is using a scarf which also features the main colour of your outfit, in this case it is cobalt blue with a hint of red, this keeps this look fresh and stylish, using another bold colour would ruin this look and make it too fussy.

The second look is using a nude scarf, if using a nude scarf, try to keep all your accessories the same, for example add a nude heel and a tan bag. This Love Niche nude colour scarf is absolutely gorgeous and so soft, with the added lace it adds another texture and dimension to this look! Our second look is keeping it simple with a twist. We have styled our best selling indigo stretch jeans with a black sheer blouse which has the most amazing gold embroidered collar, with a knitted golden sequin jumper, the textures work really nice together, the slouchy jumper keeps this look relaxed and not too dressy. Our last look is a bit more classic. These gorgeous black trousers have just landed in the studio, they are an amazing fit, they have a tapered leg to stop them from billowing and a faux leather elasticated waist band. We have gone for a monochrome look with (another new arrival) this dipped hem cream blouse. We have introduced a minimal print with the cream snake print scarf, to keep this look interesting and not boring, and added some colour through the bracelet. For when the weather starts to get a bit bitter, we have teamed the above look with our favourite boxy biker jacket!
