This weeks styling tip.

photo 2 (34)The pastel trend has been big all year, so Autumn/Winter is no exception, except you swap your pastel cami tops for chunky knit pastel jumpers and your short shorts for thick woolen tights.

Every season we create mood boards to help us focus on the trends of the moment, so to help inspire you too here is one of our mood boards for the pastel trend!photo 1 (32)We have decided to show you some of our pastel outfits which are our in the studio at the moment , two day outfits by Love Niche and two evening outfits which are Niche by Nisha Vedhara.

First up is a look using one of our favourite fur gilets! A tip would be when wearing pastels its good to use another bold colour to break up the look to stop it from being too washed out, if you wear pastels wrong they can drain you! So we have layered the gilet over the long sleeved plum top, by keeping it in the same color family we have added extra warmth to this look. Wearing white trousers with this outfit keeps it looking light and fresh, you could also wear another colour but try to avoid black as it would darken this look too much. photo 3 (26)photo 2 (35)Our second day look is more of an autumn look, with a simple pastel jumper with some gorgeous bead work across the shoulders. To keep the autumnal chill away we would suggest styling with a scarf which is again in the same colour family. This scarf is one of our favourites as it has beautiful golden shimmer lace detail. We think this is the perfect outfit for a “ladies who lunch” or afternoon tea date. photo 5 (14)photo 4 (22)Our first evening look is one from the Niche by Nisha Vedhara collection. The perfect dress for aumtumn/winter. With the long sleeves, the layered top that gives off 1920’s vibe, we are in love with this dress! The golden lace shimmer top adds that extra wow factor. Paired with the gold clutch with oversized jewels, a killer heel and you’re set for the night. This is the ultimate christmas dress! photo 3 (27)photo 4 (23)Our final look, which was part of our fashion show earlier this year, is another Niche By Nisha Vedhara dress. This dress is ideal for the festive period, with swarovski crystals, satin bow and lace sleeves, how can you not love this dress?! The beautiful model Lucy wore hers with red stiletto heels for a pop of colour.

This weeks style tip!

photo 1It’s still holiday season and in the studio we always get asked how to create an evening capsule wardrobe while away on holiday, so here are some of our favourite looks we have pulled together.

Look 1; We have the Love Niche best sellerthe drape dipped hem blouse, its lightweight, comes in many colours, prints and can be worn lots of ways as it is easy to style. We have paired it with this gorgeous zebra print skirt, a simple pendant necklace and a sequin bag for a bit of glitz and glam!

photo 3photo 1Look 2 again with the drape top, this time we have styled it with must have killer white jeans! White jeans are a holiday must have, they have to be lightweight and fit perfectly. Jeans are the most versatile item anybody can have in their wardrobe, and white jeans are a MUST for any holiday! Again we accessorised with the simple black pendant necklace, but this time we added another colour with the blue chillis bag.

photo 3photo 2Look 3 is one of our favourite looks. Who said kaftans were just for daytime…we love layering open kaftans for an evening when it can get a little bit chilly! We have turned up the jeans to give this look a more relaxed feel, a simple white vest, the sheer bold print kaftan is quite boho chic, so we layered some Love Niche necklaces to style up this look. Paired with some killer wedges this is a fab evening look if you like to try something new, this is definitely a head turner.

photo 3photo 2Look 4, and the last look with white jeans. This is a classic take on the white jeans, paired with a split sleeve black top for a monochrome look. To stop this look being too conservative we accessorised with one of our statement Outhouse necklaces which is neon green to add a pop of colour, and the sequin bag again for a bit more glam!

photo 4photo 2The final look is another simple yet eye catching outfit! We have paired the zebra print skirt from look 1 and the black split sleeve top from look 4. We have let the skirt do all the talking and kept it simple, to make this look a bit edgy we added the amazing outhouse lion head collar style necklace (one of our faves!!!) To finish off this look just add some killer heels, tousled beach wavy hair and a pop of colour through lipstick!

This week’s styling tip!

Image (7)

Ever feel stuck in a rut when it comes to colour? Maybe it’s because you don’t know what to put with what or sometimes wearing a bright, bold or different colour feels too overwhelming for you and as if you’ll draw too much attention to yourself. We suggest you start by introducing colour through adding subtle hints. Either through Accessories- like a handbag, shoes, sunglasses, a bright watch or a bold bra peek out or maybe a bright bold vest. Our pick of the week is a neon vest.

This Black drape top shown below is one of our Best Selling tops available for purchase at the Love Niche Studio. Here is how we added a subtle hint of colour to a basic Black and white outfit.  The neon just peeps through from the front cut and similarly from the back. For the ones who say we dont do colour, we suggest you try this, its subtle showcasing of colour but it can simply brighten up your day.nilpp

And for the ones who feel they can carry more colour  than that. Here is another pick. An Aztec print drape top with neon orange trim. Surely to grab attention and make heads turn 😉

Colour is fun embrace it and enjoy it. Here is a food of thought before we go…

Newcastle Fashion Week.

Well Newcastle Fashion Week is finally over, and what a fantastically hectic week it was in the House of Love Niche!! We have had an amazing time and met so many lovely people!

We kicked off Newcastle Fashion Week 2013 in style, by attending the official launch party at Mercedes Benz garage for the Cruise Clothing catwalk.

photo 1 (1)

We were greeted with a glass of champagne on arrival and got the chance to look around the ‘bootiques’ and at the dreamy cars, including the official Newcastle Fashion Week Mercedes, before the show started. We were lucky enough to get front row seats for the catwalk, Cruise put on an amazing show, we fell in love with sooo many pieces that we just NEED to have! If you didn’t get to attend the launch or haven’t yet seen the pictures, these are the official photographs.

During the evening at Mercedes we got to sample some of the incredible cocktail creations by Livello bar, including our favourite the Marshmallow Martini (out of this world!) This gave us a taster of what was to come, as we then headed on to Livello’s for the after party in the exclusive members only area upstairs, the perfect end to an amazing launch!

Niche picMonday 13th May was the big event of the week for us, as it was the Fringe event for our much awaited launch for the new cruise/resort wear collection!! The entire day was such a whirlwind and flew by, with model fittings, goody bag packing, sorting and styling the looks, timing the walk…the list is endless, safe to say we had a crazy 13 hours!

hood street

When the clock struck 7 the doors were officially open at the Hood St Club and the guests started to pour in, we were in to the final hour countdown so we were all frantically trying to organise the last few details before showtime!

8’o clock and the models were lined up all looking amazing in their first looks and ready to go. The show lasted for 25 minutes and was split into 4 looks; First were looks from Love Niche- Monochrome, Second were Niche by Nisha Vedhara-Wedding, third and fourth were both the amazing kaftans by Niche by Nisha Vedhara.

Here are a few of our favourite looks from the night, and the link for the official photographs firstly by Lee Scullion and also Alex Alevroyiannis.

Tk-Maxx launch Newcastle.

logo

Last week we attended the launch of a new fresh store in Newcastle city Centre…TK Maxx! We headed down for 10am after the morning rush, unfortunately we were too late to be gifted with one of the 500 £10 gift cards! Music, sweets and friendly staff greeted us on entering the store, as soon as we arrived we realised this was not just any ordinary TK Maxx.

To most people as soon as they think TK Maxx words such as bargain, hunting, deals, on trend, discount and designers come to mind! However for a few its not a very enjoyable experience (especially for men) they don’t get the thrill from rummaging through the endless rails trying to find that special item! We asked a few men their thoughts and opinions on TK Maxx and the overwhelming response was that they found it “a waste of time trailing through rails” (Nahhh!!) “it’s just a big jumble sale” “too hard to find something in my size”

However if they ventured into the fresh Newcastle store we think they would be surprised by how easy it is to now find that special bargain they crave! Sections were clearly marked and organised into sizes.1 tk maxx

In our eyes we found the new store a haven for all the beautiful things we love, imagine shoes, bags, endless rails of gorgeous clothes and an impressive home accessories section..heavenly! For us it is an absolute delight searching high and low through the rails, because when we do find that big designer item we feel a sense of achievement, its exciting! Then when we look again and its our size and at an affordable price (Voila!! ) we just want to jump up and down, its been our lucky day.

This is exactly how we felt when we were at the TK Maxx store, which was inaugurated by gorgeous Donna Air who is a tv presenter and actress, Newcastle is actually her home town.

The best part about the fresh Newcastle store was the ‘Gold Label’ collection. With an average ticket price of £100 each item features a distinctive black and gold ‘Gold Label’ swing tag with a very interesting message its says ” Very Important Purchase” and it surely is. The Gold Label collection is available in only 22 stores in the Uk. At the Monument Mall Tk Maxx it was handily at the top of the escalator upon entering. We were in awe of the collection they had, and we found ourselves being held there for over an hour alone! This little zone of temptation had designers such as ; Dolce & Gabbana, Viktor and Rolf, Red Valentino, See by Chloe, Lanvin, Emilio Pucci and Versace to name but a few.hy

So naturally we raided the rails to find our favourite pieces and decided it would be fun to pick out some key hot pieces that we ‘Need to have’ or ‘Want to have’ however after trying on some items we realised they didn’t fit in either of the two categories, so instead they moved to a new category of ‘Have to Have’ and ‘Can’t live without!'(pheww!!)

These are our clicks from our little fashion show we performed in the changing rooms 🙂

First up is this fabulous versatile Emilio Pucci blouse, as soon as we saw this we knew this was going to be a ‘Have to Have’ key item! Everything from the monochrome print (very on trend this season ladies!) to the fit of this blouse is so flattering, this is how we styled it; We paired it first of all with a fitted panelled pencil skirt, secondly we teamed it to go under the figure hugging Nanette Lepore dress. The Pucci blouse was affordable at only £169.99 from £850, and we found it was the perfect length to wear just as a cover up over a bikini, perfect for the up and coming holiday season! The Nanette Lepore dress was a bargain at £79.99!

Another one of our many favourites was this elegant Red by Valentino mac. One of the most vital pieces for the British weather A Mac is an indispensable piece in any wardrobe. It was unfortunately too big for both of us, but we still gave it a try as we couldn’t resist trying it on and thought we should know how it feels before we can suggest it to someone who might fit in it. It was fabulous with the delicate lace insert and lace bow. A mac is an essential item that can be worn all year round with it being waterproof which is a key feature for us Brits! It is also light enough to be added just as an extra layer in those colder months. So we styled it over the Pucci blouse and Nanette Lepore dress as shown above, we found this look perfect for a late Spring/ early summer work wear outfit choice. The Valentino mac was an absolute steal at only £199.99! We were amazed at this price and would be very surprised if this was still up for grabs (we can only hope!)

Other favourites of ours included this gorgeous netted blouse by Dolce & Gabbana, and this lime green blouse by Lanvin ( Love Alber Elbaz) both styled with the panelled monochrome pencil skirt. The D&G blouse was one of our more expensive picks being sold for £269.99, however it was originally £1,810 so in our eyes that is such a bargain! The Lanvin blouse is the perfect piece for adding a pop of colour into a dull spring wardrobe and can be styled in many ways, this pencil skirt just being one. It was priced at £199.99 down from £1,000, which is again a rather large price down, We would class these blouses as investment pieces, as they are still quite expensive but they will serve you well!

If you are unable to go into a Tk Maxx store, don’t worry! They have a great online store click here to browse the ‘Gold Label’ range if you cant resist the temptation anymore.

Happy Shopping!!
