This week’s styling tip.

photo 1 (1)This is our second post in the body shape series, where we are focusing on the fabulous ‘Hourglass’ figure! The hourglass is classed at the ideal fantasy figure for a woman, with equal proportions, gorgeous curves, ample bust, slender waist yet still with hips, thigh and a good bum! This body shape might sound easy enough to style and think that with the good proportions they would suit everything, however it can actually be one of the most difficult shapes to dress right!

If you are an hourglass you may find that when you go into some stores, especially the higher end stores that it can be a challenge to find clothes that suit your shape, and this is because designers tend to make clothes for a straight up and down figure. If you like to wear luxurious clothes you will find it easier to shop in a luxury boutique/fashion studio.

This season every hourglass should have in her wardrobe; a fitted crisp white shirt ( the fitted shirt was made you!) a pencil skirt to show off those curves, either a wrap or an a-line skirt dress. Some killer jeans, steer away from a flare leg, however if you like bootcut jeans go for a dark wash and make sure they have large pockets on the bum. Straight/slim leg trousers and jeans work best for you as they show off your curves and legs, try to stay away from light wash jeans. The a-line skirt paired with a fitted top with flatter your figure to no end, wearing a dress or skirt with a slight peplum will also show off your curves however do not go over the top with the peplum as one with too much volume will just make your hips look larger than they are.

If you are a petite hourglass try and find slim trousers and jeans which are slightly high waisted as they will elongate your legs as well as drawing in your waist. Avoid clothes with no shape and definition as they will do nothing for your figure and if anything they will just make you look frumpy. Also avoid hip pockets as this will make you look disproportionate.

For the colder months when choosing your a/w coat, go for a coat which has a belt or a define waist, a mac is the ideal coat for you. Also try a cropped jacket/biker leather jacket (totally on trend!) by wearing a cropped jacket it will draw in your waist and show it off. Stay away from boxy jackets even if they are on trend this season!!

We have styled 3 outfits, 1 look with a pencil skirt, 1 with a dress and cropped fur and 1 trouser look, to show you how we would style your body shape during this season!

First we have a work wear look with a pencil skirt, which will hug your curves and show off your waist. This skirt is in a must have colour of the season; berry! We have teamed it with a fitted white shirt which has unique box pleat details around the neck and on the cuff of the sleeves. By adding one of our new belts that have just landed in the studio for A/W13 it has taken this look from day to night, finish this look off by adding a clutch, some heels and a berry lip.photo 1 (40)photo 3 (32)Next up is our autumnal dress look. This lightweight jumper dress is an extremely versatile piece to have in your wardrobe, you can dress it up or down, we have added a cropped berry fur bolero jacket which is gorgeous for your shape. We would finish this look with some earrings a slick ponytail and a heel. This dress has no waist definition so we have added a tan belt to draw in the waist to give more shape. Just because a dress has no definition at the waist does not mean that you can’t style it to suit your shape. photo 4 (28)photo 5 (18)Last is our trouser look. These casual trousers come in black, maroon, navy and a light brown and are perfect for hourglass and triangle shapes, they skim over the hips, are ever so slightly high waisted and are a straight cut so they don’t cling to your ankle. The faux leather waist band adds texture. We have dressed this look up slightly with a gorgeous black jumper which has beautiful embellished shoulders, everybody loves a bit of bling! Again to take this look to an evening we have added a clutch bag, also team with a heel, a red lip for a pop of colour and let your hair down. photo 2 (42)photo 3 (33)Which look do you like best?! Next week we will be doing a post for inverted triangles!

OOTD; Classic Cobalt

Image (11)Some days all you want to do is wear leggings…this doesn’t mean that style has to be sacrificed! Who said that comfort and style can’t be mixed?!

Nisha has teamed her leggings with a simple long black vest and one of the new style Love Niche studio cobalt loose blouses. These blouses are so gorgeous for every season, they are light enough for summer and can be layered in the colder autumn/winter months. They have a popper button so you can wear them open or closed and have a dipped hem. In this look Nisha has styled hers with some simple black mesh stiletto heels and gold jewellery (reindeer necklace available from Love Niche)

Blouse also available in cream as shown here in one of our previous OOTD posts.

How do you style your leggings?

OOTD; Cool cobalt

Today’s look is this gorgeous colour block playsuit, which has just landed in the Love Niche Studio! Cobalt is one of the major colours of 2013, so this playsuit is bang on trend. With it being colour block it makes it more versatile to dressing it up or down. We have teamed it with a deep rich purples bag, keeping to a similar colour palette so we don’t make the look over fussy. Also a pair of killer studded heels to keep the look edgy and interesting.

Bare in mind that playsuits aren’t just for sunny summer days/nights! Check out our layering style tip post on how to layer up your playsuit so you can wear it during next season too!

This weeks style tip!

photo 1 (25)Autumn is our favourite season of the year, in our eyes its when the real dressing starts, we move away from floaty summer dresses, short shorts, skimpy tops and bring back out our structured jackets, cable knit jumpers and of course the textures; leather, lace and fur. In Britain of course we are used to cold drab weather, so we love to layer to keep out the chill!

The Love Niche Studio has just got in the new autumn/winter collection, with some truely amazing seasonal must haves! The outfits below are our take on how we would layer during this transitional period between summer/autumn!

Our first look is this gorgeous colour block playsuit (playsuits arent just for summer!) The cobalt colour is bang on trend again this season! We have added a dark navy blue real leather biker style jacket, with quilting on the shoulders (another major a/w trend!) and a woolen scarf, we have gave you two colour options; first is using a scarf which also features the main colour of your outfit, in this case it is cobalt blue with a hint of red, this keeps this look fresh and stylish, using another bold colour would ruin this look and make it too fussy.

The second look is using a nude scarf, if using a nude scarf, try to keep all your accessories the same, for example add a nude heel and a tan bag. This Love Niche nude colour scarf is absolutely gorgeous and so soft, with the added lace it adds another texture and dimension to this look! photo 1 (24)photo 2 (26)photo 3 (18)Our second look is keeping it simple with a twist. We have styled our best selling indigo stretch jeans with a black sheer blouse which has the most amazing gold embroidered collar, with a knitted golden sequin jumper, the textures work really nice together, the slouchy jumper keeps this look relaxed and not too dressy. photo 4 (15)photo 2 (27)Our last look is a bit more classic. These gorgeous black trousers have just landed in the studio, they are an amazing fit, they have a tapered leg to stop them from billowing and a faux leather elasticated waist band. We have gone for a monochrome look with (another new arrival) this dipped hem cream blouse. We have introduced a minimal print with the cream snake print scarf, to keep this look interesting and not boring, and added some colour through the bracelet. photo 3 (19)For when the weather starts to get a bit bitter, we have teamed the above look with our favourite boxy biker jacket! photo 4 (16)

OOTD; Summer Vibes

20130703-183951.jpg

With summer slowly fading away we are desperately trying to keep it here for as long as we can! Today’s look has definitely got those relaxed casual summer vibes, double denim, pop of colour, cool light fabrics layered!

Double denim is mostly a summer trend, and can only really be pulled off if the denim is broken up by another colour, so this Love Niche white twin set is perfect, its lightweight with gorgeous embroidery and the ideal garment for adding layers and texture to an outfit. As always a girl needs her bling, layering bracelets is another way to add dimensions to an outfit!

The neon shoes (major trend!) and the bright pink bag add that pop of colour which is needed in this outfit to stop it from being boring, clashing the two colours is daring, but it works with this look!

What do you think of this summer look?

This week’s styling tip!

photo (18)

We have already given you our tips on styling while you are on holiday, how to pack your suitcase and what type of bikini suits your body shape, so now here are our tips for how to dress while traveling to your holiday destination!

When traveling your style should not have to be compromised! You can still travel in style using our guide;

  • Wear well fitted trousers that have extra stretch in for comfort
  • Wear a loose fitting top so you feel relaxed and don’t get too warm
  • Take a jacket or blazer with you while on the plane as it can get very cold in the air
  • A scarf is the perfect accessory to keep you warm if you haven’t packed a jacket
  • Make sure you take a large bag to keep all your travel necessities in, including your travel organiser (make sure you check out our post on what to take in your organiser!)

This first look features our best selling indigo ultimate stretch jeans! They are super versatile and comfortable. With them being a dark indigo wash we have teamed them with a light print top and our favourite white summer coat.

Look 2 is the same as look 1 just swapping the summer coat for a neutral colour scarf with beautiful delicate lace trim. When wearing a printed top its best to keep your accessories plain and simple.

Look 3 again with the indigo stretch jeans, this time with our best selling drape top in lime! The light weight fabric makes this top extremely comfortable while being bang on trend with the bright colour. Adding the snake print scarf relaxes the outfit and adds extra warmth.

Look 4 is our final look, white on white. White is a major trend this summer and looks as though it is here to stay through to next year so this is the perfect look. These skinny white jeans have extra stretch in them to make them very comfortable and fit perfectly. Adding the coloured layered tops breaks up the white and also gives extra warmth.
