SS14 earrings!

The new season is gradually starting to come in to the Love Niche Studio! Since the weather is still pretty gloomy and we can’t don our favourite S/S14 trends just yet, we have been looking for a way to introduce a bit of summer into our daily looks. Luckily, the new collection of Love Niche earrings has arrived! Everything from nude pastels, coloured stones, crystals and pearls!

We love these cream and gold disc earrings with pearl details. They could easily be worn day to night, for any occasion! For an evening look sleek your hair back off your face and let the earrings do the talking, wear with your favourite LBD and killer heels, add a red lip for extra wow factor! photo 1 (18)These stunning crescent moon earrings are perfect for an evening look! They will definitely make heads turn with the crystal and pearl details.  Either wear with a gorgeous dress or even try with leather trousers and a deep lipstick for more of an edgy glam look!photo 3 (13)We can’t get enough of these round turquoise stone earrings! They are ideal for adding a pop of colour during these gloomy months and will look stunning during summer with an all white look! To make the earrings pop even more try and wear with a clutch or heels the same colour. photo 2 (20)These unusual drop statement earrings are one of a kind. The coral stone is a gorgeous summer colour and looks stunning against the gold. The clear crystals give these earrings that extra wow factor and will definitely stand out against your LBD for an evening look! Again we would suggest to wear coral in other accessories such as your clutch, heels or a coral lipstick. You could also team with a coral blazer over your LBD to make the coral stone on the earrings pop and not get lost. photo 4 (10)

Trend of the week- SS14 silhouettes and shapes

Spring/Summer 14 is a season of beautiful shapes and silhouettes, in our opinion it is going to be a very feminine season ahead, and we love it! We have taken inspirations from many designers, not only using girly colours in our up and coming SS14 collection but also the cuts and shapes. We are loving the contrast between the feminine full skirted silhouette with cinched waist and the masculine tailoring.

DROPPED WAIST – The dropped waist dress has been quite a big hit on the runway this coming season, however it is going to be a “marmite” trend, you will either love it or hate it! Some designers have revamped the 1920’s style flapper dress such as Calvin Klein and Lanvin. Victoria Beckham has designed a gorgeous collection full of dropped hemline and cinched belted waist, very feminine chic! Roberto Cavalli has incorporated the dropped waist into the collection with stunning crochet lace maxi dresses, we adore! SS14 Dropped waist

FULL SKIRT – The full skirt is the most feminine shape of the season, this hourglass look is a must have of the season! The full skirt doesn’t have to just be below the knee, you can take inspiration from Saint Laurent and go for a fuller mini length dress! We are loving Peter Pilotto full skirted looks, with a slight dipped hem, these looks also tie into the boxy trend which is major this season with the stiff boxy fabricated crop tops. Christian Dior has designed gorgeous eye catching full skirted dresses. SS14 Full skirts

TAILORING – Tailoring is a strong look this season, but don’t just think stiff trouser suits! Tailoring is immaculately shown at Saint Laurent and Chanel with boyfriend coats and blazers teamed with skinny cut trousers. Peter Pilotto has shown a different side to tailoring with boxy overcoats and ruffled tailored skirts. Bermuda shorts are a huge trend this season, with many designers showing them in fashion week, we love Victoria Beckham’s take on Bermuda shorts. The Bermuda shorts also fit in with the relaxed tailored safari look which will be a must have style this SS14. SS14 tailoring

THE MAXI Every spring/summer the maxi makes a return on the runways, this season is no exception! Maxi skirts or maxi dresses, we urge you to introduce the maxi into your wardrobe this summer, we will be investing in bright bold printed maxi skirts for sure! Chanel showed us maxi skirts in crisp white and off the shoulder maxi dresses in tweed like fabric. We love Lanvin’s printed flowing maxi dress with thigh split. Christian Dior showed elegant pastel  high waist maxi skirts. SS14 MAXI

Trend of the week – Must have prints SS14

Last week we did our first post about the must have colours for SS14, in our series of “Trend of the week” posts. This week it is all about prints, SS14 has gone print crazy, from feminine florals to edgy abstract designs!

FLORALS – They have made an elegant triumphant return this SS14! But forget those chintzy florals! You have so much choice this season, with a broad collection of different prints ranging from pretty 3d floral clusters at Giambattista Valli, embroidered floral details at Erdem and oriental Japanese style floral prints as seen at Marni and Hermes. Elie Saab also wowed us with a gorgeous collection, the poppy print is one of our faves! SS14 FLORALS

STRIPES – We have seen lots of stripes on the runway this SS14 and we are loving them in all sizes; thick, bold or thin, horizontal and vertical! Burberry showed gorgeous thick bold horizontal striped pencil skirts and sheer skirts with bold striped knickers peeking through. Fendi showed stripes in some unusual ways by layering different shades of fabrics to create an ombre effect to their dresses. Stripes were also shown at Vanessa Bruno in the form of zebra stripes and also bold coloured striped high waisted shorts and matching tops!SS14 STRIPES

CHECKS – Last season they were huge and tartan was one of the biggest trends of the season, and they carry on with their dominance on the runway into SS14. They have had a SS14 overhaul, think colour, when picking your checks anything from candyfloss pink to acidic yellow hues! Take your inspiration from House of Holland who showed a gorgeous collection at LFW. Sass and Bide also showed checks in their SS14 collection with monochrome check and sheer white check jumpers also pink check sections on maxi skirts.SS14 CHECKS

NOVELTY – We saw a lot of unusual and eclectic prints this SS14, from fun iconic lip motif prints at Giles, to butterflies at Vanessa Bruno, then ranging to the very creatively stunning yet unusual collection at Christopher Kane who had cut out petals (some in very questionable places!!) slogan “petal” and “flower” printed jumpers and flower anatomy printed on silk and sheer dresses and jumpers. Ashish is another designer who showed a lot of slogan prints in the collections this season, a favourite being “Coca-Cola” shown on tops, dresses, jumpers with cobalt blue sequined arms and even trousers, which were also printed with Arabian words.SS14 NOVELTYImage credit to style.com

OOTD; Neon day to night

20130703-194757.jpg

Neon has been one of our favourite trends this summer, we just can’t get enough! So we thought we would share our take on how we would wear neon day to night using the same bold cobalt peplum top and amazing colour clashing neon heels.

Our daytime look is quite bold and fun, teaming monochrome jeans (another huge trend) with the peplum top, adding a leather jacket for another texture to keep the look balanced. The neon pink scarf ties in with the pop of pink on the heels, these neon colours keep the look exciting and interesting.

For our evening look we have swapped the bold monochrome jeans for a more elegant black fitted pencil skirt, which hugs all your curves. We ditched the leather jacket and scarf and went for a neon pink box bag which also has monochrome harlequin sequin detail around the edges. The classic shapes and style of this outfit have been revamped by introducing bold brighter colours making it bang on trend!

Which look is your favourite, day or night?

OOTD; Summer Vibes

20130703-183951.jpg

With summer slowly fading away we are desperately trying to keep it here for as long as we can! Today’s look has definitely got those relaxed casual summer vibes, double denim, pop of colour, cool light fabrics layered!

Double denim is mostly a summer trend, and can only really be pulled off if the denim is broken up by another colour, so this Love Niche white twin set is perfect, its lightweight with gorgeous embroidery and the ideal garment for adding layers and texture to an outfit. As always a girl needs her bling, layering bracelets is another way to add dimensions to an outfit!

The neon shoes (major trend!) and the bright pink bag add that pop of colour which is needed in this outfit to stop it from being boring, clashing the two colours is daring, but it works with this look!

What do you think of this summer look?

This week’s styling tip!

photo (18)

We have already given you our tips on styling while you are on holiday, how to pack your suitcase and what type of bikini suits your body shape, so now here are our tips for how to dress while traveling to your holiday destination!

When traveling your style should not have to be compromised! You can still travel in style using our guide;

  • Wear well fitted trousers that have extra stretch in for comfort
  • Wear a loose fitting top so you feel relaxed and don’t get too warm
  • Take a jacket or blazer with you while on the plane as it can get very cold in the air
  • A scarf is the perfect accessory to keep you warm if you haven’t packed a jacket
  • Make sure you take a large bag to keep all your travel necessities in, including your travel organiser (make sure you check out our post on what to take in your organiser!)

This first look features our best selling indigo ultimate stretch jeans! They are super versatile and comfortable. With them being a dark indigo wash we have teamed them with a light print top and our favourite white summer coat.

photo 5 (7)

Look 2 is the same as look 1 just swapping the summer coat for a neutral colour scarf with beautiful delicate lace trim. When wearing a printed top its best to keep your accessories plain and simple.

Look 3 again with the indigo stretch jeans, this time with our best selling drape top in lime! The light weight fabric makes this top extremely comfortable while being bang on trend with the bright colour. Adding the snake print scarf relaxes the outfit and adds extra warmth.

Look 4 is our final look, white on white. White is a major trend this summer and looks as though it is here to stay through to next year so this is the perfect look. These skinny white jeans have extra stretch in them to make them very comfortable and fit perfectly. Adding the coloured layered tops breaks up the white and also gives extra warmth.

Make sure you check out last weeks style tip on how to pack a capsule holiday wardrobe!

Cannes, It’s a White Out!

photo 1 (2)Well last week was the uber stylish week of the Cannes Film Festival. Its renowned for being one of the most prestigious events of the year! Every year we are in awe of the gowns, so we have decided to share our best dressed with you! This spring/summer 2013 is huge for white, and we are BIG fans of all white everything! So this is our opinion on who we think has done white well (not in order).

photo 2 (2)First on our list is the absolutely stunning Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, she opted for all white Dior dress and white Louboutins. She looks glowing, the dress fits her like a dream, this is a very classic look and allows the dress to do the talking by keeping it basic.

photo 3 (2)Next up we have Nicole Kidman on the red carpet wearing a magnificent Valentino gown! This look is flawless, the gown is so beautiful with intricate lace detail and classic high neck. Nicole finished this look off perfectly with subtle red lip as the only accessory, we LOVE this look.photo 4

Carey Mulligan’s look has been hit and miss for some people, however we love her in this Vionnet dress. Monochrome is bang on trend this year, and we love the almost origami feel to this dress! Black sky scrapper heels complete this look, we think she looks hot!

photo 2 (3)

Whenever you think of Emma Watson, you always think of the cliche ‘Girl next door’ but not anymore, gone are her Harry Potter days! She donned the most amazing Chanel column dress with black velvet bustier. She looked the epitome of elegance, chic and style.

Image (4)

Last, but by no means least, is Solange Knowles. She stepped out wearing a bright white Stephane Rolland 2013 jumpsuit, not a gown but none the less fabulous! She has absolutely nailed this look, we are in love with the immaculate tailoring and unusual conical detailing around the neckline and down the sleeves, teamed with her statement red lip and tan heels perfects this look, she looks fierce!
